PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

May 4 2009 to May 10 2009

Monday May 4
Function of the Conjunction

As I was saying on Friday, 'The triple conjunction of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron is NOT inauspicious. It speaks of inspiration and revelation. This threat of a pandemic simply demonstrates how equally vulnerable we all are.' Viruses don't respect international boundaries. Nor do financial crises or climate changes. We're all passengers on Spaceship Earth - and if there's trouble in one part of our home, sooner or later, it will affect us all. Yet, still, most of us 'think locally'. Expect this rare alignment in May to stimulate a shift, in the hearts and minds of millions, towards 'thinking globally'

Tuesday May 5
Divination Class

Over the weekend, my youngest daughter and I have been enjoying Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I gave up, last time I attempted the series. I didn't much like JK Rowling's description of 'divination class'. I still wish she'd shown astrology a little more respect. But this time, I'm taking it on the chin for the sake of the story. And at the risk of sounding like Sybil Trelawney, up in the North Tower, I must announce that soon, Mercury turns retrograde. Expect delays in communication and transportation. See it as a chance to rethink old assumptions.

Wednesday May 6
Spaceship Earth

I'm now preparing for my annual talk at the Sunrise Celebration. This year, the theme is Spaceship Earth. I predict that soon, many more people will recognise how we're all passengers on one big craft. The outdoors is a giant viewing platform, the sky a kind of high-tech window. 'Sunrise' takes place, in Somerset, UK, on the last weekend of May, just as Jupiter and Neptune form their rare triple conjunction with Chiron. But if you want instant proof of the spaceship premise, watch tonight, for shooting stars. Earth is currently passing through the remains of an old comet.

Thursday May 7
Magical May

Mercury is turning retrograde, the Moon is growing full and we're edging ever closer to the triple conjunction of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron. If you wake up before dawn, Jupiter's in the East, roughly where you'd expect the Sunrise. If you've got binoculars, scan the sky near Jupiter and you may just pick out Neptune. Chiron, the healer, is a tiny asteroid that can only be seen by NASA scientists... but like Pluto, it shouldn't be underestimated just because it is small. We may be living through tough times, but we'll yet remember May 2009 as a magical month.

I'm giving a special talk at the Sunrise Celebration in Somerset, UK on Sunday 31 May, just as the triple conjunction is most powerful. If you'd like to come along, ticket details are HERE. (Five star members should use the link from the five star home page)

Friday May 8
Many Moons

Depending on where you come from, tonight's Full Moon is known as the Milk Moon, the Dragon Moon, the Planting Moon, the Panther Moon, the Moon When Leaves Are Green, the Bright Moon, the Hare Moon or the Grass Moon. Although perhaps, in the light of current conditions, we should retitle it the Quantitative Easing Moon. Or maybe the Facebook Moon. One thing it isn't, though, for most folk at least, is the Swine Flu Moon. Given how worried many folk were this time last week, that's an improvement. Expect more rapid change (for the better) in coming weeks.

Saturday May 9
Your Week Ahead

Magical things are happening in the sky. Jupiter is edging ever closer to Neptune and both are near Chiron, a tiny little asteroid. They're not physically close. Millions of miles separate these bodies. They just look, from here, as if they're in the same part of the sky. Or rather, they would if we could see them. Chiron's too small. Neptune's too distant. But in astrology, symbolism is all. These three signs of hope and healing are judged to be joining forces. Whatever's been hurt or harmed in your world... or the wide world, it can be helped and mended now.

Sunday May 10
Celebrity Sunday

This week, I've been looking at a truly fascinating horoscope. It belongs to Gail Porter, whose life has already taken many amazing twists and turns, all of which are clearly revealed in her birth chart. An Aries, with the Moon in Aquarius, Gail was born at 7.18pm, March 23, 1971, in Edinburgh. Blessed with stunning good looks, cursed by a mysterious illness and protected by a deeply philosophical personality, Gail arrived on Planet Earth during a rare conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune.
