Jen Dear Jen, Some people speak of a process called 'The Quickening' which is supposed to be happening to us all at once. But I'm cautious. I recall how time seemed to pass a lot more slowly when I was a child than it does these days! I know too that it goes faster when I am busy! So I suspect it is not a universal phenomenon, more one that varies from person to person and possibly too, from time to time! There may be some poorly-trained therapists who ask leading questions, but many have had rigorous training, including years of mainstream psychotherapy training prior to their hypnosis training. We work hard to avoid imposing dogma on a suggestible client. I find your sweeping air of scepticism surprising, especially from someone involved in an activity widely regarded as unscientific. I was unhappy in my relationship, at work and at home so I jumped on the train of change. My new wife and I met each other by accident, on the internet, in 1995. Though we'd only been pen pals (we live thousands of miles apart) we'd been a constant presence in each others' lives. In February this year we finally met for the first time! As my wife says, 'When you combine a Leo and a Sagittarius, eloping is a nice way to speed up the inevitable!' Steph Thursday May 30 Predicting Death Dear Jonathan, You recently said that astrologers can't foretell the date of anyone's death. But according to his sister, a well-known Western astrologer, Grant Lewi, got his affairs in order before he passed away on the very date he had predicted. Laura Dear Laura, About a year before he died, aged 48, Lewi set up a new business venture. So if he did see this coming, it wasn't long in advance. I suspect he looked because he was fighting a debilitating illness. I also suspect he'd have lived longer if he hadn't taken his own prophecy so seriously. Friday May 31 Big Square Deal Dear Jonathan, Last year, when you announced a series of squares between Uranus and Pluto, you sounded excited about it happening seven times between 2012 and 2015. But recently you appeared to downplay its importance. Is it not as 'big' as you initially suggested? Dom Dear Dom, I think, if anything, it is bigger. But where normally I might consult ancient texts, to help me understand such events, these make no mention of recently discovered celestial bodies like Uranus and Pluto. Their last square was just hours before the Woolwich tragedy. I fear that's more than coincidence. That marks a big turning point, not just for people born under these signs or even for Pisceans and Sagittarians (the two signs ruled by Jupiter) but for us all.
