There was a terrific response to get broken watches and use your Mind Power to set them ticking.
Gillian in Birmingham wrote: “At lunchtime my 12-year-old grandson and I wrapped my watch, which had not worked for over four years, in your paper and repeated three times: ‘Work! Work! Work!’ The winder was broken and the watchmaker wanted £45 plus to repair it. As it was a special gift, I kept it as a keepsake - and thanks to you it’s working again!”
Campbell in Renfrewshire emailed to say: “For a bit of a joke, I took the paper, wrapped it around a Seiko Kinetic watch which has not worked at all for about twelve months, shouted, ‘Work! Work! Work!’ and then looked at the watch... but it was not working. I laid it down and after a few minutes my wife told me that the watch was going. I was totally amazed. It is still keeping pefect time.”
Anne in Romford said simply: “My father’s watch had not worked for 20 years. It started last night at 9pm and has been going for 12 hours.”
Perhaps my favourite reply came from Carol, who didn’t include her address: “I can hardly believe it. My late husband bought me a marcasite watch 44 years ago, a wind-up one. It has not gone for years. I even took it to jewellers who said it could not be mended. After doing what you said, it has been going for two hours. I feel my husband is looking after me.”
