Did you know that three out of every four blind people are unemployed?
That is just one of the reasons I support the Royal London Society for the Blind, a charity at the forefront in helping visually-impaired people find employment.

Established in 1838, the society is committed to empowering blind and visually-impaired people lead independent lives.

At the society’s Kent headquarters, helpers offer advice, support and network opportunities to empower the extended family of visually-impaired people. For children, there are assessments to meet individual needs, early intervention strategies and pre-school nursery places. Young people and adults are offered on-site training and an innovative distance learning system where fully-accessible courseware is delivered via the Internet. The RLSB also runs a sheltered engineering factory with jobs for around 50 men and women.
