The ancient male and female signs make such bold statements about our natures. Men are symbolised by a jutting arrow, an age-old instrument of war. Women are signified by a cross, a design used on battlefields around the globe to identify non-combatants who bravely work to tend the wounded. Our similarities are more important than our differences. The circle symbolises both men and women. That shows we all have the potential to be whole, rounded human beings.
