I’m terrible at reading instructions. I never open the manual. When I do something, I want to get stuck in. Sometimes this backfires, and I waste a lot of time. But my impatience is often very positive, because I always launch into projects brimful of enthusiasm. Frequently that initial rush will carry me through to success. The world is full of cautious people who read the instructions carefully. Maybe I’ve been successful because I’m not like that! Anyway, here’s the infallible Uri Geller rule for fixing electrical items without the manual – try switching the batteries around! Put the positive end where the negative was. Come to think of it – that’s a great rule for life in general! P.S. Exeter may be down but we are not out. We still have our hopes, dreams and plans for the future.
