'Rules,' they say, 'were made to be broken.' Ah, but who are 'they' who say that? The rulemakers don't say it. The law enforcement agencies don't say it, either. What about the inmates of various prisons? Do they still say it? Or is it only in the criminal community that's still at large? Not all rules are made to be broken. Some are most definitely made to be kept and we break them at our peril. Others, though, are ridiculous rules. Idiotic, unfair and unenforceable impositions.
