Capricorn Year Ahead 2009

Saturn, the ruler of your sign, is currently in opposition to Uranus. This only occurs only once every 40 years or so. The influence has been building up for a while. It continues right through 2009 into 2010 and is the reason why you feel as though your entire world seems to be built on shifting sand. If your experiences of late have left you doubtful about how much you can rely on or believe in, be glad.

We don't get long on Planet Earth and every moment is to be celebrated. Yet too often, instead of making the most of our time, we retreat into entrenched behaviour patterns. We act as if we are here forever. We lower our sights and then we lose the sense of magic. Instead we see ourselves as going perpetually round some great treadmill of responsibility and difficulty. But that is not the way it's supposed to be. If something comes into our world to shake us up, that's got to be good thing - as long as it takes us closer to recognising what a gift existence is.

It's difficult for you to take anything for granted at the moment. You can't even be sure of what kind of problems you are going to be facing soon. If, for instance, you think that you are going to spend the whole of the coming year wrestling to keep the wolf from the door, think again. There is a very clear indication of ongoing support in that area, for you. As for where you might expect other problems to be... well, almost certainly, they are not where you think. Indeed, when it comes to leading the kind of life you have led in the past, very little of what you are experiencing now, or are due to experience during 2009, is going to reflect that kind of experience. It's in with the new, at every level. With the new comes the challenging and the emotionally intense, but the new also brings in the rather magnificently good. Some of what's good may well come one moment and apparently vanish the next. But have patience... it will be back. And overall, month by month, the blessings will outweigh the drawbacks, dramatically. Your task, in 2009, is to overcome fear or misgiving and replace it with confidence, optimism and hope. The more you allow that to happen, the more everything else takes care of itself.

Talk to them. Don't hide or hang your head in shame. Just be honest and make realistic offers. And ask for interest to be frozen so that bills don't keep growing. I am not telling you any of this because I foresee financial trouble. If anyone of any sign is well placed to survive the downturn or somehow even benefit from it, that must be you. Elsewhere in your life, though, the impact of this opposition from Saturn to Uranus is being keenly felt. Saturn, after all, rules your sign. Somewhere in the realm of what you believe, about yourself and life, there's a sense of intense obligation. You've got to lift yourself out of it and out, too, of a fear of finding yourself in a new situation that you're not sure how to handle. If, in 2009, you prioritise a policy of being fair, honest, upfront and reasonable, the only thing knocking on your door all year... will be opportunity.
