Jonathan Cainer Zodiac Forecasts

PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
February 26th to March 4th 2007

MONDAY February 26
Saturn's cycle

Dear Jonathan,
Last week, you said that Saturn made the ages 42 to 49 a rebellious time. I'm 47. For the last few years I have been making a lot of waves at work. I feel it has to be done. Can I expect a more serene time when I turn 50?
Marie

Dear Marie,
Not so much 'more serene' as more certain. The next part of your Saturn cycle is one where sense of purpose increases, pragmatism becomes a priority and you no longer feel willing to waste energy on endless battles when there are wiser targets to meet.

TUESDAY February 27
Seven-year cycle

Dear Jonathan,
I am fascinated by the 'seven-year cycle' idea. I am turning 56. What does this mean?
Arbra

Dear Arbra,
Saturn's movements are not exact to the calendar year. But roughly every seven years, Saturn gets about one quarter of the way round the cosmic clock face. Once every 28 years it returns to the zodiac position it held when we were born. That's when we face facts and make more realistic plans. It can be a tough time. It may require us to 'reinvent' ourselves. It always, though, heralds the onset of deeper discrimination and wisdom.

WEDNESDAY February 28
Ten-year lows

Dear Jonathan,
You have said a lot about seven-year cycles. My life, though, seems to hit a low every ten years. I had a major upheaval at 13 and again at 22/23. Then, aged 32/33, I underwent a terrible relationship breakdown. It has occurred again as I approach 43. What can I do?
Debbie

Dear Debbie,
Possible cosmic culprits include 45 degree angles in the 84-year cycle of Uranus or, perhaps, sunspot cycles. I'd need to look and see what your chart is sensitive to. But you could argue that if trouble comes only every ten years, you're leading a life that's ninety per cent fine!

THURSDAY March 1
Occultation of Saturn

Watch the Moon tonight*. Below and to its left, Saturn is shining so brightly that, if you had a small telescope or some binoculars and a very steady hand, you could pick out its rings and maybe even see some of its satellites. Stay up late enough (UK 2 - 3am GMT) and you may catch Saturn slowly vanishing behind the Moon, reappearing some 20 minutes later. Symbolically, this speaks of profound emotions proving strong enough to overcome all obstacles. It also suggests that people are now more powerful than politicians and that governments may soon abandon more unpopular policies.

(Footnote)
*Tonight's Occultation of Saturn is visible only from the Arctic down to central, northern and eastern Europe. In Berlin, for example, the full occultation starts at 3:29h MET and ends at 4:11h MET The further west your viewing point, the more likely you are to see a rare 'grazing occultation' where Saturn appears to run along the line of the Moon's mountains, playing a kind of celestial peek-a-boo. The broad 'graze' line crosses the UK mainland from north to south, starting in Lewis, Outer Hebrides, (98% at Stornoway) and proceeding via Glasgow (96%), the Lake District (100% at Windermere), Preston (70%), Chester (25%), Birmingham (45%), Oxford (40%), and Reading (40%), until it reaches the south coast at Brighton (70%). A full occultation of Saturn will be visible to the east of that line, a close conjunction, to the west. For more information, visit the Society For Popular Astronomy website.

SUNDAY March 4
Mercury ends retrograde

Mercury, around March 8, ends the retrograde phase it began back on Valentine's Day. It won't be till the end of the month, though, that it regains the position it previously held. If you're trying to solve a problem, complete a deal or pursue a plan that has gone off track, the tide of your fortune may follow a similar course. Progress will come slowly but it will come. Much the same can be implied from the month-long opposition of Neptune and Saturn. Little is happening in a hurry but what's happening is good. Especially for those with enough courage to question unnecessary rules and challenge negative assertions.
