PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

July 12 2010 to July 18 2010

Monday July 12
Expect the Unexpected

Science fiction writers often describe 'alternate worlds' where everything is the same apart from one detail. In another world, for example, perhaps your neighbour put on a blue shirt instead of a green one this morning. Or a different team made it through to the World Cup final. Arguably, there could be an infinite number of such worlds. Some astrologers believe that eclipses signify a time when 'portals' may open between these places, allowing two-way traffic. There was a solar eclipse a few hours ago. So if anything seems unexpectedly odd in your life today, maybe that's why!

Tuesday July 13
I Looked Over Jordan.. What Did I See?

Hi Jonathan,
Can you tell me if you see Katie Price and Peter Andre getting back together, I know Katie is married again, but I am a Piscean and I just have this feeling... Donna

Dear Donna,
Interestingly, your letter arrived just after I'd been studying the horoscopes of Katie (a Gemini) and her new husband Alex (a Leo). They are surprisingly well matched. I suspect that your feeling stems from empathy for your fellow Piscean, Peter. All Pisceans know nothing is impossible for those who dream. But I'm really not so sure Peter dreams of Katie any more.

Wednesday July 14
Korea Change?

Dear Jonathan,
Do your forecasts apply more to women than they do to men? Mina

Dear Mina, They apply to anyone who has a compassionate heart, a questioning mind and a sensitive spirit. Broadly, these characteristics are more 'feminine' than 'masculine', but some women shut themselves off from their softer side... and many men are not afraid to be tender and open minded.

Hi Jonathan,
I live in South Korea and am curious if the 'T-Square' will bring hope for the two Koreas? Rachel

Dear Rachel,
Perhaps not immediately, but it will expedite inevitable, eventual positive change.

Thursday July 15
Second Chances

Hi Jonathan,
Do you believe everyone gets more than one chance? Before you answer, consider the type of person who sells their friends and family to the enemy during war, then regrets it. Many would argue that such a person doesn't deserve a second chance no matter how many good deeds they do later. Natasha

Dear Natasha,
I'm not a rabbi or a bishop. I'm only an astrologer. But, yes, I do believe everyone gets more than one chance. Whether we deserve this is debatable. But do any of us deserve the right to decide what someone else deserves?

Friday July 16
Gain Without Pain

Dear Jonathan,
You have dismissed other people's predictions of a hell on earth and suggested that events between now and 2012 could bring a shift of consciousness. But most people only re-evaluate their priorities after having a traumatic experience. So might not a global awakening be caused by a global trauma? Joel

Dear Joel,
It's possible, I suppose. But aren't you really saying, 'there's no gain without pain'? That, to me, sounds like the very belief system we've all been buying into for centuries. I'd rather hope that a 'consciousness shift' would help us transcend such negative expectations.

Saturday July 17
Your Week Ahead

We're approaching the finale of an astrological drama that has been unfolding since 2008. Saturn and Uranus have been playing out a slow tug-o-war across the zodiac, increasing pressure on each other one moment, relaxing it the next. That's why we've all been going through so much change and trauma, as individuals and as nations. Next week, they complete their last opposition for another 46 years - and we all start to breathe easier. This week, no matter what sign you are, if you've got something you need to face up to and fix, now's the time!
