Thursday May 9 Transformation People in Northern Australia or the Southern Pacific get a gorgeous annular eclipse early tomorrow. During an ordinary eclipse, the Moon appears to be the same size as the Sun and it blocks out all the light. When an eclipse is annular, the Moon appears slightly smaller so we end up with a big dark 'central space' surrounded by a glorious ring of fire. The simple, symbolic key to what that means is 'transformation.'
