PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

June 5 2017 to June 11 2017

Monday June 5

London

My city, London, has suffered another attack by people with hate in their hearts. But I don't want to waste any more time on them. Instead I choose to focus on the many folk who came to aid the wounded, whose bravery and kindness might have prevented this terrible situation become even more tragic. Astrology cannot be used to predict these horrible events. But it can be a vital tool to connect with our best selves. And I'm grateful that I live in a city full of heroes.

Head or Heart?

More Sally Fisher Art here.

Today, two planets change signs in the zodiac. They return to their respective homes. And both of them are lucky enough to have a second place to call home too. Yet, a little like the politicians running up to the UK election, Venus and Mercury can claim that both of their dwellings are essential for their work. Mercury, moving into Gemini, becomes ever sharper and curious, whilst Venus becomes more devoted to pleasure and sensitivity. So whose voice is the loudest, the head or the heart?

Strong and Steady

Yesterday, I suggested that the energies affecting both our hearts, and our heads, are especially strong at the moment. That makes making decisions potentially more difficult. For those whose vital organs are in agreement, it's easy enough. But what about those of us who might feel conflicted by the choices we face? If in doubt, try to conceive an alternative plan while Jupiter is stationary and making a creative aspect to Saturn. You have a strong and steady hand. Build on that.

Wisdom and Vision?

Jupiter, the planet of politics, turns direct today, as the UK chooses the next government. As it is finally returning to its natural direction, its influence becomes more powerful. And with a Full Moon on the horizon, it suggests that a crowning achievement is in the offing. Of course, with two main rival politicians contesting their first election as leaders, today represents a zenith in both their careers. It's not my place to influence anyone's vote. But, as Jupiter encourages wisdom and vision, it would be judicial to listen to this call!

Winners and Losers

Today, as well as those rejoicing, there'll be people feeling bitter at the state of UK politics. This isn't an experience unique to Britain. Many democracies are in a more extreme and perilous state around the world. And many more people who'd gladly swap their political situation with the most disgruntled UK voter. So I encourage us to channel our emotions into positive action. As Venus and Mars align, it's hardly the time to stop being passionate about our values.

Saturday June 10

Your Week Ahead

More Sally Fisher Art here.

This week, the Sun opposes Saturn for the last time in the planet's nearly two-and-a-half-year stay in its current sector of the sky. Since Saturn focuses on definition, structure and control, its qualities aren't necessarily at home in Sagittarius' freedom loving, expressive optimism. Yet, with Jupiter having just turned direct again, the Sun's warmth shines positivity into the dark corners of the most stubborn situations. Our courage and purpose may be being tested, but our odds have rarely looked better.
