PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

July 2 2018 to July 8 2018

Monday July 2

Blah, Blah, Blah

Political commentators use the term 'flip-flopping' to describe the voting inconsistencies of our elected representatives. Today, though, I want to leap to the defence of our much-maligned politicians. They're only human, after all. Surely they deserve an easier ride sometimes? Shouldn't we just give them a break? Actually... looking at the current crop, perhaps not! But following Mercury's link with Uranus at the weekend, in the light of new information being unveiled, it's okay to change our minds.

Tuesday July 3

On the Cusp?

Dear Oscar,
I'm on the cusp of Scorpio and Sagittarius - do both forecasts apply? Also, I'm finding it hard to move on from a painful situation. Will I always feel pulled by different forces? Tiger

Hi Tiger, Read only one sign, the one your Sun was in at the moment of your birth. (It is never astride two signs and you can verify which sign you actually are here.) With Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, in Scorpio now, Scorpionic themes of passion prevail. Yet, the coming opposition of Mercury and Mars will put many of our emotional issues into perspective. Oscar

Wednesday July 4

Grand Trine

Since May, Jupiter and Neptune's harmonious relationship has been the basis of two supportive Grand Trines. Tomorrow, the Sun moves into position for one final formation of this auspicious alignment. Grand Trines provide the strength needed to triumph over adversity, but not necessarily the wisdom to see how it should be applied. Currently, we needn't doubt our ability to pursue our dreams, but we should certainly question which dreams we want to explore!

Thursday July 5

Mind Over Paper

The influence of the Grand Trine lasts until the weekend. Yet today a more intense pattern forms as Mercury moves opposite Mars in a relationship played out under the watchful gaze of Jupiter. Although it's often said that the pen is mightier than the sword, it's only as mighty as the mind that controls its movements. This is a day to think before acting, and question why we act in the way that we do. There's a new and creative way to approach a tired and worn-out scenario. It can be rewritten to include more fun.

Friday July 6

Party Time

Dear Oscar,
How often do Sun-Jupiter-Neptune Grand Trines form? Kay

Dear Kay, A Grand Trine involves three planets forming 'trines' with each other. Jupiter and Neptune enter this relationship roughly twice in eight years, then have a gap of eight years. So for a Grand Trine to form, their alignment must coincide with the right season for the Sun to join the party. The last Sun-Jupiter-Neptune Grand Trines were in 1987 and 2000. The next arrive in 2025 and 2031. So let's make the most of it this weekend! Oscar

Saturday July 7

Your Week Ahead

Watch out for ladders. Avoid black cats. And don't get clumsy with mirrors. Later this week comes Friday the thirteenth, and even the Sun seems too scared to stick around for it! A partial Solar Eclipse opposite mysterious Pluto may sound scary, but no matter what superstition says, there are plenty of celestial pointers towards providence. Jupiter, planet of luck, finally turns direct again, and Venus enters Leo to form a Grand Trine with Uranus and Saturn. The only unfortunate thing about this week is that it hasn't already begun!

Sunday July 8

Your Week Ahead - Love Focus

Remember, your Love Forecast today does not just cover romance. A love forecast may also have something to say about your family life, your closest friendships and even some of your most important working relationships.
