PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

November 12 2018 to November 18 2018

Monday November 12

Too Much of a Good Thing?

More Sally Fisher Art here.

Did anybody mention that Jupiter's back home in Sagittarius? If you're a regular reader, you'll probably be sick and tired of me talking about it! Although, now I come to think about it, one theme this astrological event throws up is 'too much of a good thing'... so I'll try not to let excitement get the better of me. Instead I'll simply say that, whilst being careful not to bite off more than we chew, if it's opportunity, growth, adventure or good fortune that we're hankering after, no one needs to go without.

Nerves of Steel

Last weekend, the combined energies of the Sun and Pluto treated the zodiac as if it were the United Nations working to support shared causes. Although with Pluto was involved, it probably resembled a secret back-room meeting rather than an open, shining example of democracy at work. Today, the Sun's sharp link with Saturn puts that agreement at risk. We need to hold on tightly to our noble aims and high hopes for the future, but we also need nerves of steel to match the rhetoric, plus determination to push the best deal through.

Home Sweet Home

Apart from a brief retrograde foray into Capricorn, Mars has been in Aquarius since May. With one day left before it moves into Pisces, the shift we're starting to feel creates a change in how we pursue objectives and deal with confrontation. Instead of seeing what seem to be obvious solutions, and getting frustrated when they aren't followed, we're becoming more sensitive and more understanding. They say that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar... and as Mars moves into its new home, we'll all be capable of acting more sweetly.

Count Your Blessings

Change is in the air and decisions need to be made. The question, is whether this change should be embraced, hidden from or fought against? As passionate, Pisces-bound Mars makes an encouraging link with revolutionary Uranus, any feelings of frustration should be replaced by clarity of mind. With Venus, the planet of love turning direct tomorrow, life-affirming qualities are being highlighted. Today is a good day to remember the gifts we have been given and the relationships that we cherish.

Friday November 16

Celestial Chef

Sometimes I feel more like a cook than an astrologer. Presented with the zodiac's produce I find myself combining the astral ingredients into something appetising and nourishing. But the universe is an unpredictable sous-chef! It can sometimes spill the spices and spoil the broth. As Mercury turns retrograde this weekend, this particular feast is far from ruined. Sometimes, instead of delicate seasoning, a generous helping of an unusual flavour creates a dish that will be remembered for a while to come.

Your Week Ahead

Why do we misplace our keys when we're rushing to leave the house? Is it just coincidence that smartphones drop their signal when we're lost and need them for navigation? Famously, when Mercury moves backwards, such trends tend to become more apparent. And, under the influence of newly empowered Jupiter, which makes significant patterns with power planet Mars this week, the sense of frustration may grow. Yet, the Full Moon suggests that, as long as we don't fight against the tide, we'll be guided in the right direction.
