The Life of Minced Pie

More Sally Fisher Art here.

'Twas the night before Christmas, When all through the house, Not a creature was stirring, Not even a mouse,' wrote Clement Clarke Moore. Except something is stirring. Mercury's creeping out from its shadow, leaving the territory it revisited during its retrograde movement. As it ventures forth, sniffing the air and searching for crumbs from mince pies, we don't have to be as timid. There are no nebulous threats waiting to pounce. Clear focus on the present brings presence of mind and, if you're lucky, a well-earned mince pie too!

Merry Christmas Tiny Tims and Tinas!

More Sally Fisher Art here.

Sometimes I feel a bit like all of Scrooge's ghosts all rolled into one. That's because I'm speaking to you from the past, in the present, and writing about the future! Not that I'm comparing anyone with an unredeemed Dickensian curmudgeon. Especially when even those who avoided the sherry last night are likely to be feeling extra sensitive today. Mercury and Neptune's alignment makes us more empathetic towards any Tiny Tims and Tinas. Let's hope that goodwill can be a gift shared by everyone.

... And Pause?

More Sally Fisher Art here.

It's the day after Christmas and even the cosmos is putting its feet up. With no major new alignments to speak about today, do I also get to knock off early? No! Like a faithful petrol station attendant, I'm on duty in all seasons, whatever the astrological weather. But, although Jupiter makes an uncomfortable link with Saturn tomorrow, I won't let the spectre of the volume of work I've got sitting on my desk wear me down. After the frenetic build-up to the festive season, we can all be grateful for a moment to pause today.

Skeleton Staff

More Sally Fisher Art here.

The period between Christmas and New Year is always a strange time to be at the office. Few places of work operate at full pelt at this betwixt-and-between time. We're far more likely to see skeleton staff keeping things ticking over than anyone taking major strides forward. And even those workplaces which experience a festive surge won't be exploring new ways of doing business. That's lucky, because Jupiter and Saturn's link suggests that the tried-and-tested ways may be the wisest way to achieve results today.

Dark House

Venus has been covering new ground in Scorpio for almost a month. Today, she links encouragingly with its ruler, Pluto. This celestial dark horse makes it hard to predict what our hearts will desire this weekend. Yet, whatever this alignment tries to hide, one thing remains clear. Emotions, though intense and complicated, have the power to transform difficult situations. Simply acknowledging feelings, even (especially) the difficult ones, brings strength and sets the scene for good communication. The truth can be shockingly empowering.

Your January Monthly Forecast

More Sally Fisher Art here.

The new year will arrive with a spring in its step. On the heels of the partial Solar Eclipse, Uranus, the last planet still moving backwards, changes direction, and imbues the sky with real momentum. Several fascinating celestial dramas treat us to their opening act in January, including the first of Jupiter and Neptune's dynamic squares, which stoke the fires of faith in the furnaces of our imagination. Yet there's no need to fear being lost in a fantasy world. Saturn's grounding influence enables us to take advantage of the wealth of cosmic gifts.
