PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

Aidos Amigos

One Ancient Greek emotion was so highly valued that it was personified as the goddess Aidos. It doesn't have a literal English translation, but it describes the feeling the prosperous should feel when they're in the presence of people less fortunate: when they understand that the difference between them is unmerited. As Christmas approaches, the Sun and Jupiter's link encourages Aidos in us all. Although prosperity may not always be easy to come by, we can all find ways to feel appreciative.

The Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
Then the Sun trined Uranus and the silence was broken,
With the sound of humanity being rudely awoken,
By epiphanies with purpose and creative advances,
That helped us to take up the slimmest of chances,
And strive for success at a confident pace,
For a change of direction is all that we face,
And no longer feeling like the short straw we've drawn,
As boldly this Christmas we welcome the dawn

Happy Christmas!

I suspect Clement Clarke Moore is spinning in his grave after my mangled reimagining of his most famous work yesterday. But I hope it provided a glimpse of what's going on in the skies high above the ground, even if it caused a commotion six feet under! Tomorrow's Eclipse arrives to compound the Sun-Uranus relationship and provide the Sun-Jupiter conjunction with some early impact. It's not just major change that's afoot; it's exponential growth too!

New Start

Though it's only South Asia and Western Australia who will see it, an annular Solar Eclipse converging with Jupiter can't slip past unnoticed. Especially while our stellium of Capricorn planets is building towards the Saturn-Pluto convergence, which is just over two weeks away. These groundbreaking events suggest regeneration. But, before something can regenerate, its original manifestation must come to its conclusion. If new starts are taken seriously, we can begin to uncover a new chapter.

Let it Grow

The earliest evidence of farming goes back over 25,000 years. But it's only since around 9500 BC that we really began to work the land. It seems that it took us 15,000 years of studying the world, watching things grow, before we decided to take part ourselves. Currently the soil is fertile, the seeds are ready, and the stars are aligned. Since we don't have millennia to wait for the perfect weather for planting, we need to take bold steps and put in the effort to make positive things grow.

Your January Monthly Horoscope

I'm dreading the coming year... but not for astrological reasons. It's just that in 2020, with my professional hat on, I'm expecting gags aplenty about foresight! Fortunately, the year starts off with such a bang that it makes life easy. Saturn and Pluto converge for the first time in 38 years, with the Sun and Mercury coalescing in the majesty of a Lunar Eclipse. It's a time for powerful, responsible, restructuring; guided by intelligence and optimism. If we match vision with effort, the view will be a delight.
