PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

June 6 2022 to June 12 2022

Monday June 6

Woman Power

My wife is re-watching the original TV series Sex And The City. At first, I scoffed at the nostalgia, but I have to admit that I've been drawn in. While I'd always valued its cultural importance as a female-driven show in a male-dominated TV landscape, I'd forgotten how well written it is. And, as Venus (love) aligns with Neptune (intuition) today, it's not the only thing that bears a second look. In order to assess what's valuable and important in our lives, we need to look beyond surface impressions.

As One Door Closes

When Mars and Saturn last converged, in April, they called for action in the name of long-term progress. Today, they renew their tense relationship in the first real test since then, to see how much progress we've made. While retrograde Saturn asks for patience, Mars, at home in Aries, doesn't want to listen... so, expect annoying frustrations. But any problems won't last long. If a door seems to be shutting, with determination, the cosmos promises a creative solution that will open a window.

Wednesday June 8

Clown King

There's a Turkish proverb that says, 'When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king. The palace becomes a circus'. Looking at some of the world's political figures it's easy to think that the houses of several governments look more and more like big tops! Maybe that's why people like birthday boy Kanye West think they can do better! Maybe he's confused the White House with a festival tent! Mars and Saturn insist it's time to get serious and take action. We've more power than we think.

Seal the Deal

Recently I talked about Mars and Saturn's spicy relationship returning, if not to haunt us, to pose a challenge that needs to be solved. Now, as Mercury makes its third alignment with Pluto, we're facing another blast from the astrological past. But this isn't something we need to feel worried about repeating on us. This is an opportunity to revisit a subject we're finally getting a handle on. With the knowledge being uncovered, details can be sorted and a deal finally sealed.

Friday June 10

Crypticity

Some of my friends obsess over crypto-currency and the money they believe they're making. But the energy used to power Bitcoin alone is equivalent to the amount used by a small country. It makes me wonder whether these theoretical gains (rarely physically materialised) are worth their real-world cost? This weekend, Venus, at home in Taurus, meets unpredictable Uranus. They call for questions about values and the way we appreciate resources. It's time to implement important changes.

Your Weekly Horoscope

Peter Jackson's Beatles documentary gives us a fascinating insight into the creative process. Songwriters are often portrayed as the recipients of divinely inspired forces which gift them with fully formed musical masterpieces. And while we see the muse at work, the film also shows how much inspiration depends on perspiration. As Venus and Uranus converge, and Mercury heads home, creative clarity brings change. Yet the Supermoon indicates that the harder we work, the more satisfying the transformations will be.
