PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

December 26 2022 to January 1 2023

Monday December 26

Happy Boxing Day

The term Boxing Day sounds like it's referring to post-Christmas sales - or the mountain of post-Christmas packaging that needs recycling! But it refers to the packages traditionally given to servants by their wealthy employers. We like to think of ourselves as being upstanding, generous citizens but, following Jupiter and Uranus' final alignment this year, the cosmos calls for action rather than words. The way to demonstrate that we understand the true meaning of our principles is by acting on them.

Dreams for 2023

More Sally Fisher Art here.

Dreams are ephemeral. As soon as we wake up, they disappear, leaving half-remembered sketches to remind us of our nighttime journeys. But, by connecting to our intuition, we can find inspiring ideas about how to improve our reality. After linking with Mercury, dreamy Neptune aligns encouragingly with Venus and extends a cosmic invitation to question assumptions and clear up confusion. It takes courage to dare to dream. But, as we move towards 2023, the results can be spectacular.

Between Christmas and New Year

Does the week between Christmas and New Year really count? It feels like it's a time of year that's here, but not here. Maybe it could be designated a 'leap week' where anything that gets done is seen as a bonus! Of course, that doesn't stop people from making demands or expecting results. But the Sun/Saturn alignment encourages us to slow down and to do things at a realistic pace. With Mercury about to turn retrograde, we can't afford to move quickly with untested ideas. Slow and steady wins the race.

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury, the planet of ideas, communication and commerce, begins its backwards motion across the skies today. Since its retrogradations are often linked to misunderstandings, deals breaking down, and gremlins in machines, they're usually greeted with a collective groan. Yet often the problems that arise already exist; they're just being brought to our attention. With Mercury, Venus and Pluto close together, delving deeper into complicated matters gives valuable insight that can guide us into 2023.

Better Ways

The year is drawing to a close but some issues remain determinedly open. And, with Mercury retrograde, the idea of leaving problems behind is a luxury we can't afford. Rather than moving into 2023 without a backwards glance, this is a chance to consider better ways to invest our energy, and to think about how to make our actions better reflect our values. The year ahead is rich with opportunities. If we take this chance to learn from the past, we'll be free (and better-prepared) to pursue them.

New Year's Eve

With Mercury, the planet of communication, moving retrograde, the New Year's engine might need some extra energy before it starts to power ahead. Fortunately, as dynamic Mars, which has been reversing since October, prepares to move forwards, the cosmos gifts us with a boost of top-quality fuel. Renewed enthusiasm, and the ability to tackle last year's problems with an innovative approach bring a sense of hopefulness. Although the journey through 2023 will be bumpy, the destination looks promising.

Sunday January 1

New Year's Day

More Sally Fisher Art here.

The New Year celebrations and fireworks signal a turning point as we move on from the challenges of the last 12 months and look ahead with sparkles of hope and excitement. And here are real reasons to be optimistic. This year, the changes we hope to see in the world begin in our hearts. And with Venus (love) and Pluto (transformation) combining this weekend, we couldn't ask for a better start! With Venus entering Aquarius ahead of the Full Moon, we're ready to embrace the future.

Remember, the Love Forecast for your sign today does not just cover romance. A love forecast may also have something to say about your family life, your closest friendships and even some of your most important working relationships.
