PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

January 30 2023 to February 5 2023

Monday January 30

An Easy Win

When we work ourselves up to fight for something, only to find that we're met with no resistance, the challenge is to find a way to channel the excess energy in a positive direction. Today, as Mercury (intellect) harmonises with Uranus (innovation), and the Sun (creativity) trines with Mars (energy) there's no shortage of passionate ideas to inspire us into taking action. As long as intentions are well-founded, the potential to make constructive progress is exciting and fulfilling.

Tuesday January 31

Arthur MacDonald

Today, in 1905, Arthur MacDonald raced his Napier L48 along a Floridian beach and set a new speed record of 104.65mph. Over a hundred years later we're all dashing around at 100 mph trying to fit everything into our days! As the Sun's harmonious link with excitable Mars gives way to a more challenging alignment with Uranus (the planet of surprises), passions could turn to frustrations about the rate of progress. Fortunately, the approaching Full Moon will help us realise how to enjoy the road ahead.

Wednesday February 1

Happy Styles

Harry Styles, whose birthday is today, is an example of someone whose surname seems to fit their lifestyle. As a pop star and fashion icon, his artistic choices are both heavily curated and massively influential. It's hard to imagine how living under such pressure and scrutiny must feel. How can he go to the shops on a bad hair day? As Venus and Mars prepare to align at the weekend, the skies bring creative dynamism we can all enjoy. We just have to be careful that style doesn't get in the way of progress.

Thursday February 2

Groundhog Day

More Sally Fisher Art here.

Today is Groundhog Day in North America. Apparently, if one of these cute rodents comes out of its home and sees its shadow, it's a sign that spring is still a few weeks away. From cows lying down (an indication of rain) or the movement of swallows (a signal of summer) there's a rich tradition of animal behaviour being used to predict the weather. The Full Moon is sometimes associated with howling wolves. But this weekend, the silvery orb awakens a creative process that can transform, in a very positive way.

Friday February 3

Myspace

More Sally Fisher Art here.

These days, with social media so prevalent and influential, it's hard to imagine there was ever a social network with little advertising and an online community that offered support. Myspace was usurped by the launch of Facebook (19 years ago) and we entered a world of 'likes', dislikes' and algorithms. This weekend, as the Leo Full Moon arrives and links with Uranus, it brings the potential to make progress in a heartfelt way. Acts of kindness can be both revolutionary and materially rewarding.

Saturday February 4

Your Weekly Horoscope

More Sally Fisher Art here.

This week, the Full Moon in Leo directs its creative energy toward Uranus, the planet of change. With Venus (creativity) and Mars (power) forming a dynamic relationship, we're set for a time of dramatic intensity. There are surprises in store. But, as long as we respond with ingenuity and originality, we can use the cosmic energy to create innovative, positive transformations. And as the planet of communication, Mercury, leaves its shadow, sharing ideas will lead to tangible progress.
