PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
April 2nd to April 6th

MONDAY APRIL 2
April events

Some astrological events are a lot more unusual than others. The rare ones tend to involve the slow moving "outer planets". We astrologers get very excited when we see links between two of these. April brings two such important developments. The first comes later this week, when Jupiter forms a trine to Neptune. The second takes place towards the end of the month when Saturn moves into a new sign for the first time since 1999.

TUESDAY APRIL 3
Privacy

Doctors and solicitors have a code of conduct. As part of this, they must respect the privacy of the people that they are helping. Astrologers are under the same obligation. We cannot tell the world who our clients are. There is though, nothing in the rulebook about mentioning the people we are NOT advising. I, for example, am not advising Tony Blair. Nor, it is clear, is any other astrologer. Unless, maybe, he's talking to a stargazer who is secretly in the pay of the Tories. (If he does pick) June 7 (, he will find it) is very inauspicious. This won't stop Labour from winning but it could well bring them a significantly reduced majority.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 4
President Bush

Some while ago, the USA accepted an international agreement to reduce pollution. Now President Bush wants to welch on the deal. Some people have asked me if I saw this coming. The answer is no. Sometimes, the sky spells out a message in giant neon letters but usually in astrology, you have to ask a question before you can find an answer. I never thought to ask such a question. In my naivety, it never occurred to me that someone would do such a dirty deed. Maybe he will get away with it but if so, it won't be for long. One "big sign" in the sky now is August's opposition of Saturn and Pluto. This, I fear, suggests an event that will awaken even him to the danger of global warming.

THURSDAY APRIL 5
Trine

A "Trine" is not just something that runs on an Australian railway. It is an astrological term for an angle between planets. We use it whenever two planets are 120 degrees - or one third of the zodiac - apart. Some planets zoom round the sky. They form trines every few months. Other planets trundle sedately, taking ages to form such an alignments. Jupiter and Neptune last formed a trine back in August 1992. They are doing it again today. The next few days have to be an excellent time for anyone who is sincerely trying to find inspired, imaginative, fair solutions.

FRIDAY APRIL 6
Intense Full Moon

When the Moon is full, the night sky shines a spotlight on our souls. Happy people become even happier. The Full Moon heightens their urge to celebrate. Likewise, generous people become kinder and creative folk get more inspired. The Full Moon though, is indiscriminate in the way it intensifies everything. It can make needy people needier and frightened people more afraid. It is quite notorious for deepening desire, powering passion and amplifying anger. There is a Full Moon this weekend. Allow it only to touch the best part of your heart.
