Dear Peter
You would be surprised to learn how common it is to dream about death – yet how uncommon it is for a dream about death to have a literal meaning. You are definitely not about to die, but clearly some part of you feels that you can’t carry on living with a certain situation.

You tell me that you are divorced, feel very unsettled and, at the age of 55, still do not know what you want to do with your life. Clearly, something is preventing you from finding the happiness you deserve. The clue lies in the meeting with your late mother. This suggests that you would still like a mother-figure to take care of things for you. It is this immature ‘mother’s boy’ within who needs to undergo a radical transformation.

A part of you is suffering from the Peter Pan syndrome, afraid to grow up. Only if you overcome this fear will you be able to take responsibility for your life and find a new direction. Your dream is not an omen but a powerful message that you must choose to change.
