Dear Sarah When I was 12, I had a dream relating to the football pools in which eight of that week's matches ended in a draw. I noticed that the names of all 16 teams ended with the letter 'n'. My stepfather would do his pools coupon every Wednesday evening and post it on Thursday morning. I had this dream on a Wednesday night, and next morning I told him about it, but he had already sealed the envelope, so he posted it anyway. On the Saturday, there were only eight draws, all of them between teams ending with the letter 'n'. In fact, I realised later that there were only 16 teams in the whole of the pools coupon whose names ended with this letter. The payout for that week turned out to be £75,000, which was then the maximum you could win. Unless you can provide a logical explanation for my dream, I guess it will always remain a mystery. Thomas, South London Dear Thomas, At least one person is known to have won a large sum of lottery money after dreaming about the winning numbers. Yours, though, is the first dream I have come across to predict football results. I can offer you no logical explanation - although I suspect that predictive dreams like these involve a form of telepathy arising from the mysterious relationship between time and consciousness. Many people have predictive dreams from time to time, although few of us remember them quite so clearly. Next time you have one, let's hope you have a chance to act on it. ![]() (Sun Taurus, Moon Scorpio)
