Finding
a new bathroom
I often dream that I am in my own house when, to my surprise, I discover
a large, luxurious bathroom that I have never noticed before. The details
vary but the room usually has a large window and sometimes two baths.
Although I’m delighted, I don’t immediately use my new bathroom but
just talk about it.

Dear Maureen,
A new room in dreams usually means that we are ready to explore a
new aspect of our potential. You write that you are a single mother
living in difficult circumstances. Despite being well qualified, you
gave up your career after your child was born and took lower-paid
but less demanding work.
You go on to mention that you have not had a partner for several years.
In symbolic language, bathrooms are places where you wash away negative
emotions. A large window lets in more light and offers you a wider
perspective. The dream therefore implies that your current image of
yourself and your circumstances is too limited.
Two baths indicate a particularly pressing need to clean up your act.
Notice, though, that you prefer to talk about your new discovery rather
than actually experience it. Could it be that years of living below
your true capacity have eroded your initiative and confidence? Your
dream is encouraging you to take advantage of your innate abilities
and thus enjoy the quality of life you deserve.
