Playing the Piano Since I was 13, I have dreamt about being in a very old, large house in a state of disrepair. In every room are several old pianos. On them, I can play the most beautiful and intricate pieces. I feel so happy that my heart and soul soar. But although I actually have a piano, I cannot play it and cannot read music. Yet if I actually get up and go to my piano just as I'm waking up, I can play the piece as beautifully as I did in the dream. Once I am awake, though, I can no longer play. Nicola C, Co Sligo Dear Nicola, The house represents yourself. It is large and therefore full of potential, but it urgently needs working on. You write that you are 23 and live with your parents, who are undemonstrative. Although you long for affection, you have no social life. You go on to say that music is your main love. Why, then, have you not learnt to play your piano? You mention that you have owned it for ten years, which is when the dream began. If you really can play when you are half asleep, you have potential bursting to be developed. Music, for you, symbolises joy. The process of learning will therefore feed your starving soul. Please take this wonderful dream seriously, It is urging you to awaken your creativity. Once your soul begins to soar in your waking life, too, all else will follow. ![]() (Sun Taurus, Moon Scorpio)
