Meeting the Queen In a recent dream, I am visiting a mansion where the Queen lives. As I go in, she walks past and I say hello. She seems lonely and asks me why I don’t come and stay. Then she shows me a beautifully furnished room. I think how lovely it would be to live there. When I woke up, I wanted to get back into the dream. Cynthia, Worksop
Dear Cynthia
In women’s dreams she usually signifies mature, feminine authority. Think of the Queen on a chessboard and the freedom that she has to go her own way. She is far more assertive and influential than the King. We may not hold our own Queen Elizabeth in quite so much awe, but we still see her as representing dignity, strength and integrity.
In your dream, then, you are not so much meeting the Queen as your queen – the hidden guardian of your own inner realm and the source of your sense of self-worth. The fact that in your dream she appears lonely tells us that you have been out of touch with her. Now she wants you to stay because she wants to share something with you. She wants her power to be your power, and to help you to manifest a more regal presence.
I’m not surprised you wanted to carry on dreaming, but if you take the dream’s message seriously, you’ll soon be able to recapture that ‘lovely feeling’ in your waking life.
