Shooting at Airport I am at an airport and I realise I am being watched by a camera and security guards. I have a feeling that I am going to be arrested for plotting to kill my wife. Although I believe I am innocent, I am somehow being made to feel terribly guilty. Eventually I am accosted by guards. They chaperone me out, past the aeroplanes, and I see my wife. She is in a wheelchair - badly injured due to my supposed assassination attempt. She brings out a shotgun and fires, shooting me through the neck. In fact, I am only 20 and I do not have a wife. What can this dream mean? Jim, Bedford Dear Jim, To dream of being shot in the neck, which is where the head meets the body, suggests the existence of a disturbing conflict between mind and heart. Aeroplanes can often represent high ideals. It is interesting that the ones in your dream are grounded. The function of the security guards and the camera is to keep watch on your behaviour. They therefore represent your conscience. The dream ‘wife’ is what psychologist Carl Jung called the ‘anima’, the feminine side hidden deep within every man’s nature. Yours is feeling injured and aggrieved. You mention that at the time of this dream you had been going out with two girls at once. You say you have not done this before or since, and that you do not feel proud of your behaviour. It all evidently went so much against the grain that it created a dream depicting you as both causing and receiving violent injury. The implication is clear.
