Neil Armstrong on tiepin My boyfriend is puzzled by this recent dream. He answers his doorbell to find a strange, scruffy-looking man on the doorstep, holding a plastic bag. From this bag, the man take a small, transparent packet containing what looks like a tie pin. On the pin is a moving picture. It turns out to be the famous shot of Neil Armstrong standing on the moon, The man wants him to look at the pin. My boyfriend, though, who does not trust this man, refuses. In the end, however, he does take a closer look. And then…the stranger stabs him. Lois, Preston Dear Lois, You write that your boyfriend, who is 36, lives at home with his mother, unable to move away owing to financial difficulties. The stranger (a more ‘streetwise’ aspect of your boyfriend’s own psyche) is saying: “Step outside the security of home and take a close look at something.” Neil Armstrong is a heroic, adventurous figure – not the type to be living at home with him mum. Your boyfriend is being urged to recognise that these qualities are present within him…..but only in embryonic fashion. If he is ever to achieve the success he desires, he must stop relying on women to look after him. This can only sap his strength and courage. He can no longer avoid confronting this unpalatable fact. The dream is warning him that his current image of himself will be “wounded” as he begins to “wake up”. Yet this is unavoidable, even desirable, if he is to become more of the man he needs (and secretly wants) to be.  (Sun Taurus, Moon Scorpio)
