Terrifying waves For more than a year, I have had terrifying dreams involving water. The dreams are never identical but they all have the same theme. Usually, a tidal wave or a huge mass of water is gushing towards me. I am rooted to the spot in terror, quite unable to escape from this uncontrollable force. The most frightening thing is that I have no idea what I am standing on, so I do not know what is beneath me. I never seem to get away. I can see other people, though never any of my family or friends. I always wake up feeling suffocated and anxious. As a dream symbol, it often represents an unavoidable process which arouses overwhelming feelings of fear. You tell me that since you graduated last year, you have been unsure of the direction you would like your life to take. You feel unsettled and incredibly indecisive.
