Archive for Thursday 31st October 2002 - UFOs, the hidden influence behind changing times

Last week I wrote about UFOs - that I cannot understand the phenomenon, and I doubt if anyone else can. But, even if we do not know what they are or where they come from, perhaps we can understand their meaning.

That approach was adopted by Carl Jung. Not only was he a great psychologist, he was a pioneer UFO-researcher. His book of 1959, about the mystery of ‘things seen in the sky’, upset his earnest followers. They feared for his reputation. But Jung felt compelled to speak out. In the appearance of UFOs he recognised portents of great changes soon to come, and it was his duty to give warning.

As an adept in esoteric science, Jung knew about the changes that occur with the dawning of each astrological age. In the Age of Aries, from about 4,000 years ago, flourished the great Bronze Age culture, Christianity came in with the Age of Pisces, and we are now entering Aquarius. The Age of Aquarius is associated in the Bible with dreams, visions and an out-pouring of spirit. That, as Jung foresaw, would be a cause of trouble. The present age is materialistic, and it will not easily give way to wider, more spiritual ways of thinking.

Forty years later, Jung has been proved right – at least partly. Minds and thoughts have changed greatly, as he predicted. Also have come the troubles, as today in the Middle East where different beliefs are in conflict. I feel sure that Jung was right, and that UFOs have somehow influenced these changes. But this does not tell us who or what is behind them.
