Live Every Day - The Journey of a Horoscope - Day 6
by Oscar Cainer
In this series, Jonathan's nephew and astrological
collaborator, Oscar explains how he helped his friend and musical
colleague, Michael, to organise a tour in which he played a
different venue, in a different place, once a day, every single
day, for an entire year. Using his knowledge of astrology, Oscar
helped select a start date and time for the venture and here,
each day for the next few days, he tells the tale of how that all
unfolded and how it all relates back to the horoscope of the tour
itself.

Yesterday I explained how, in one of his gigs,
Michael began to play a certain song, a Cuban folk song he knew,
and a man in the audience began to sing along and at the end of
the performance he wept.
It turned out that this man was from Cuba and
had not heard that song since he was a child and his mother had
sung it to him. Hearing it again, so far from home and so many
years later, brought back floods of memories he thought he had
lost and he was overwhelmed by the emotion of it. He and Michael
talked for a while afterwards and it was clear that there had
been a significant emotional exchange between them. Although
Neptune and Chiron are conjunct for a relatively long time, the
fact that they are making these angles to the Ascendant and the
chart ruler, some of the most identity defining signifiers on the
chart, gives weight to this idea of there being healing (Chiron)
through a spiritual, artistic and ephemeral process (Neptune)
that involves creativity, playfulness and self expression (5th
House & Venus).
Venus' complex has other significant
relationships that have an influence on the project's identity,
seeing as it is chart ruler. Venus is in Scorpio conjunct the
Moon in Sagittarius in the 2nd house, trining Jupiter conjunct
Uranus in Pisces in the 6th house. To me this illustrates the
nature of what this project was about: Venus represents the
harnessing of Michael's talent in music and artistry, the fact it
is in Scorpio perhaps represents the intense emotional highs and
lows that came with this project.
There was also certainly a transformation of
his music in that it has taken on a new intensity and depth since
this project began. These transformations were very much tied up
with his emotional responses to the places he visited and
travelled though and the people he met and touched with his
music. When he had played at a homeless centre or a hospital
would often say that whatever payment he got from a gig or that
whatever enjoyment he had managed to bring to them, he was
getting back far more than he was putting out. He felt a big
emotional resonance in many of the places he visited,
particularly in New Orleans and along the Mississippi as well as
in places like Modoc National Forest in North Eastern California,
and this fed into his art and began to shape the philosophy of
the project, feeding into its direction and artistic
output.
This all seems to illustrate the conjunction of
Moon in Sagittarius with Venus in Scorpio nicely as well as
fitting in with the 2nd House themes of talent and exchange,
seeing as most of the gigs were performed for free or for tips,
the main currency for this venture were the emotional
exchanges.
