Live Every Day - The Journey of a Horoscope - Day 2

Oscar Cainer
by Oscar Cainer

In this series, Jonathan's nephew and astrological collaborator, Oscar explains how he helped his friend and musical colleague, Michael, to organise a tour in which he played a different venue, in a different place, once a day, every single day, for an entire year. Using his knowledge of astrology, Oscar helped select a start date and time for the venture and here, each day for the next few days, he tells the tale of how that all unfolded and how it all relates back to the horoscope of the tour itself.

Day 1 | Day 3 | Day 4

What started out as planned, with gigs booked each day and arranged in advance, quickly developed into ad-hoc performances at places we turned up to on the day. The project ended up re-connecting Michael with many people he hadn't seen for years, people who had played a significant role in his career, playing with them and staying with them and reconnecting intensively for short periods before having to move on. In many ways it was a literal living out of the Balsamic Moon's tendency to revisit relationships. The project was very much a Karmic experience of surrendering expectations and allowing Michael to be guided by the universe.

Every time that he pushed to get a gig, to try and get it to conform to his requirements, he ended up having a really bad time. When he approached the performance with a flexibility and open agenda, he usually had an incredible, moving, touching experience.  The project became all about communicating with people on a different level - people from all different backgrounds, people who were ill, poor, homeless, elderly, often people who didn't speak the same language. It was about reaching for some fundamental truth and sharing some inner light that travelled through all sorts of mental, physical and cultural boundaries.

To me, that seems to mimic the ideas of the Balsamic Moon being 'able to take the true meaning of a situation, distill it into its wisdom essence and plant it into the awareness of others' (cafeastrology.com/natal/lunarphases). The fact that the moon, in the chart of the entire tour, is in Sagittarius, suggesting a craving for freedom to explore and be unconcerned by boundaries and expectations seems to highlight the appropriate placing of the moon.

The second stand out signifier in this chart, which traditionally could be considered a difficulty for a new venture, was Saturn conjunct the Ascendant (Asc), squaring the Sun on the Ic, which it also rules. In a typical new business, this might be considered as a sign of restriction on how the business sees itself or goes out into the world, perhaps a tendency to get caught up in red tape or stuck with problems of where it is based/how it originated, rather than being a free-flowing, expanding, growing enterprise.

Tomorrow, I'll tell you how it worked out in this particular project.
