Live Every Day - The Journey of a Horoscope - Day 4
by Oscar Cainer
In this series, Jonathan's nephew and astrological collaborator, Oscar explains how he helped his friend and musical colleague, Michael, to organise a tour in which he played a different venue, in a different place, once a day, every single day, for an entire year. Using his knowledge of astrology, Oscar helped select a start date and time for the venture and here, each day for the next few days, he tells the tale of how that all unfolded and how it all relates back to the horoscope of the tour itself.

As I alluded when describing how a Balsamic
Moon influenced this venture, one of the themes of this project
was how every time Michael tried to impose his own expectations
on to a performance, the result would be a difficult, trying
experience, but that each time he performed and acquiesced to the
audience and environment's requirements, the result was always
fulfilling and enjoyable. I believe that that is perfectly
illustrated by Pluto conjunct the Sun on the Ic. It is also
forming a wide stelium connection with Mars as well as a tighter
one to the North Node. This to me shows up that conflict of
control and direction that was a characteristic and a big lesson
for the project. With Capricorn as the setting being a more
practical, rigid, reserved sign, there is a lesson to be learned
in the conflict here.
For this project, if it was approached with a
kind of inflexibility and list of requirements that a Sun in
Capricorn conjunct Mars all ruled by Saturn on the Asc can at
times exhibit, there is a suggestion of a conflict and power
struggle, with Pluto lurking around that stelium. Having those
expectations and fighting that corner was making the positive
experiences gained from the performance get overwhelmed by the
trials of the set up or the interactions with the owners of the
venue. However, surrendering that power to the people whom
Michael was playing for, playing for tips or, as was usually the
case, requiring nothing from the host but a place to play, was
conducive to a far better experience and lead to the kind of
exchanges that this project was all about.
To fully realize the potential of the situation
and to further the aims of the journey that he was on, Michael
needed to approach each performance situation from a place of
flexibility and surrender, to work with the restrictions rather
than fight them. The fact that this involved dialoguing with the
venue staff and the people involved in hosting the performance
emphasizes the 3rd house setting of communications issues.
Only when this openness and intuitiveness was achieved was he
really able to fulfil the goals of his project, making a real
emotional connection and taking care of those he was
communicating with (Mc Cancer).
