Jonathan Cainer's Zodiac Forecasts

Jonathan Cainer's 2002 Year Ahead Predictions

Welcome to my series on a momentous year

Come with me on a journey.
Lets step back in time together, to December 31st, 1999.
Remember how then, we were all so thrilled?

We were standing on the threshold of a new century... and a new age.
We felt that anything might be possible in our future. We also felt deeply relieved. We had been told, by countless prophets of doom and gloom, that we would never live to see such a day. Nostradamus had been crystal clear. The end of the world would come, for sure, by July, 1999!

Yet as we raised our glasses to toast the millennium, relief and excitement turned to disappointment. It soon became clear that nothing had changed. The same old dramas were carrying on, all over the world. We still had h unger, we still had hatred, we still had pain, we still had war and we still had unspeakable injustice.

Through 2000, we did our best to tell ourselves that soon, all this would be gone. We kept alive a tiny flame of hope that a better future was just around the corner. And then came 2001. And September 11.

Where are we now? Still in shock. Where are we going? Into therapy.

Therapy though, is exactly what this planet needs right now. I'll explain why in a moment but first, I have to trouble you with a little astrological detail. The picture right now is, after all, is one of the most amazing that the sky has ever shown us.

  • In August 1999, a powerful eclipse of the Sun completed a rare potent T square of major planets.
  • In May 2000, a rare cosmic conjunction took place. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter AND Saturn all aligned in Taurus. Such an event takes place only once every TWO THOUSAND YEARS or so.
  • In July 2001, Saturn and Pluto began to form one of their once-every-thirty-five, upheaval creating oppositions.
  • In May 2001, scientists in Arizona discovered a brand new planet. It lies beyond Pluto - and small enough to be an asteroid... but it is of immense cosmic significance.

Presented with just ONE of the above, any self respecting astrologer - at any time in history - would start frothing at the mouth and shouting about "ENORMOUS OMENS OF CHANGE". For all four things to happen within two years is not so much a "sign" from the sky as a declaration, in bright red neon letters, one hundred miles high.

"WAKE UP, PEOPLE OF THE WORLD. IT IS TIME TO SMELL THE COFFEE."

Now, if you understand this next sentence, you understand everything about what's due to happen in 2002.

Major planetary alignments make their influence felt over YEARS, not weeks or months.
They create "overall climates" - not individual events.
The overall climate now is one of reflection and review.

"Why are we here? What are we playing at? Why do we keep beating the crap out of one another? Why is life so unfair for so many people? Why are so many people so selfish? And when, oh when, oh when... are things EVER going to alter?"

These are the questions that the planets are now obliging us to ask. As individuals - and as groups; races, nations, cultures... we all want answers. Answers that neither faith, nor creed nor even logical explanation can satisfactorily supply.

In 2002, we will start to find some of those answers. We will also start to notice something. We are no longer living in the 20th century. Nor, even, in the last millennium. And all the nasty, narrow, cruel and miserable practices which have been so prevalent in the past need no longer play a part in our future.

You want to know what's REALLY going to happen in 2002?
The "consciousness" of human beings, all over this planet, is going to rise.

People are going to become more caring, more questioning, more willing to think positive thoughts... and more keen to be of genuine help to one another. The world is going to slowly start to become a much nicer place.

And, while it does, we're going to see one more big international conflict plus a World Cup, a Wimbledon, a golden jubilee - and a surprisingly short lived recession.

And what about the new planet?
As we take our first steps into a new year, what might the latest cosmic discovery have to tell us? In the far reaches of our solar system a massive new object has been discovered by a team of astronomers in Arizona. Currently identified only as 2001 KX76, the new planet has a diameter of around 800 miles. After the main planets, it is now recognised as the largest object in our solar system.

Throughout history, major discoveries of this kind take place at times of great change or progress. For astrologers it allows the new discovery to represent events or scientific progress for which there is no exisiting symbol. It is no mere coincidence that this new planet has emerged at a time when science is on the brink of a breakthrough in cloning and the world is re-examining international relations in the wake of events on September 11 last year.
