Power for Libra Every relationship is ultimately a struggle for the balance of power. Under some circumstances this can be enjoyable, under others, exasperating. You understand this, of course. You are a Libran. Your life is one long balancing act. It is also one long journey of exploration into the world of relationships. All your relationships, be they with loved ones, colleagues, or acquaintances, are somehow reflections of your own need to achieve the right balance of power. Much the same can be said of your relationships with the inanimate world. Machines. Situations. Social arrangements. Either they get the better of you or you get the better of them. Only, it seems, for very brief periods do you both serve each other's interests equally. Your faith has taken a beating in 2001. You no longer believe in many of the things that you used to believe - including yourself! In 2002, you will gain plenty of power over items and objects and you will gain power too over your circumstances but what you will gain, more than any of the above, is a renewed sense of faith in your own abilities. Interestingly, this will come not from some narcissistic revelation but from a series of sincere gestures made by an ever-growing number of people who clearly have great faith in you. Money for Libra Many people assume that people born under the sign of the scales have a natural advantage when it comes to balancing their books. Sadly, things are not so simple. The ethos of your sign involves the impetus to strive for equilibrium. Nowhere in the ancient lore of Libra though, does it say anything about actually attaining it! Indeed often, as soon as you achieve balance in any area of life your immediate instinct is to throw everything out of kilter once more. It is almost as if you are not comfortable unless you are uncomfortable nor able to feel prosperous unless your future is hanging by a thread. If this is true, you are not likely to enjoy yourself in 2002 for the year seems determined to bestow upon you the gift of stability and security. Where your finances are currently precarious you can expect them to become settled. Where currently, enormous overheads loom dauntingly, soon you will enjoy an increased ability to live within your means. This should leave you with nothing to worry about. You will, of course, find nothing more worrying than that. But please, don't get mad at me! I can hardly help it if your financial outlook for 2002 is excellent. Overview for Libra The big question, this year, is not "Will you get what you really want?" It's "Will you recognise what you really want, once you finally, inevitably get it?" The sky looks set to smile on you throughout 2002. It has no intention of letting you down or obliging you to settle for second best. As we speak, it is preparing to deliver a series of gifts to your door throughout the year. Bumper packages, at regular intervals, each chock full of assets and opportunities, some potential, some actual. Your outlook is little short of enviable. Though some months look better than others, none look bad and many look downright wonderful. Are you feeling nervous yet? I say this only half in jest. Experience has taught me that those born under the sign of Libra often prefer an adverse climate to a fruitful one. In times of trouble, you have no option but to cope. You become obliged, somehow, to rise to the challenges that life is setting you. You can - and do - make silk purses out of sow's ears... because you are so brilliantly resourceful. But you only ever do this when you cannot get hold of any silk. When you can, you naturally prefer to make the purse from that. And then, you get caught up in confusion. Silk of what colour? And of what quality? How many pockets to the purse? Etc. etc. Too much choice, as you well know, makes you feel uncomfortable. When you've only got a sow's ear, ALL you can do is use that. You therefore get double satisfaction. The triumph of knowing that you have done the best you can in a very difficult situation. Plus the comfort of having something that you are fully entitled to complain about. You like complaining. You are not really at ease unless something in your life is making you uneasy! And THAT'S why the outlook for 2002 might be making you feel a little nervous. It's too good. Not too good to be true - but too good to be easily accepted by someone of a critical disposition. W hen during the coming year, are you going to be provided with sufficient justification to have a good old whinge or a nicely re-assuring, slightly self-pitying moan? Maybe in April and possibly too, in July, but at neither time will your cause for concern be serious nor your ability to object prolonged. Quite frankly, if you seek reasons to feel hard done by, your best bet is to look for them now, in January, before the new season's celestial magic really kicks in.
